I really enjoy going to our Grandma’s house.
She consistently has house cooked Italian meals and tasty desserts waiting for us, however everytime I see her, she makes sure I know how much she prefers me plus I consistently have such a great time! That being said, it’s getting decreasingly taxing to appreciate time there as she gets older. The older our Grandma gets, the warmer she keeps her residence. Last month, she had us over for a party. The temperature outside was in the eighties, but our Grandma was not willing to run the air conditioning system. There were about twenty people in her house, plus she still wouldn’t run the air conditioning system; My Grandma kept saying that it would get too cold. Meanwhile, all of the guests were dripping with sweat! Eventually, I snuck over to the thermostat plus turned on the air conditioning system anyways, but it ended up taking her some time to notice, but most people else were so relieved to believe some cool air flowing throughout the house. In the winter, it is even worse. She keeps her heat on full blast the entire winter, then at first, it feels amazing coming in from the outside. With that being said, after about a half an hour, I find myself taking off layers plus starting to sweat. I think that when you get older, it just becomes easier to get too cold. I’m sure someday our grandma and grandpa will be saying the same things about me. Despite the uncomfortable heating plus cooling settings, I still prefer going to visit our Grandma, then when she’s gone, I’m sure the last thing I’ll believe about is her heating plus cooling preferences. In the meantime, I have become much more strategic about wearing layers. I even carry a small fan in our billfold when I visit. My Grandma thinks it’s dramatic, although I believe it’s crafty!
